Vectrex
This is a very origonal game system from the 80s. It was very much ahead
of its time. It came with it's own special monitor, which was vector oriented,
rather than pixel-oriented, which is what PCs now use. Using it's special
monitor, it could achieve 3-d like games and rotations. All of the games
are polygon based.

| Review |
| OVERALL: 5/5 |
This game system rocks for the amount of time you spend downloading
and the good graphics & games. Most of the games have fairly repetive
gameplay, but how many there are makes up for this. |
| Legality: 5/5 |
This system is long gone & no one is developing games or selling
units. |
| Download Time: 5/5 |
About 1/2 mb total, 1/4 for the emulator ( I recommend the lower
version, 1.4) and 1/4 mb for the entire pack of games ever made,
most of which work. |
| Fun Factor: 4/5 |
These games are fun to play, and most are fairly origonal, but
some you can see are copies of games from arcades back in those
days, such as a pac-man clone & others. They are very addicting
and I definently recommend getting this system. |
| Graphics: 3/5 |
The graphics are surprisingly good, as vector-based graphics means
that it is easy to program rotations & 3-d like effects, but the
graphics are still black and white line based things, kind of like
Virtual Boy, it even has a platform game that is reminiscent of
mario, except with a 3D effect. (for those of you who do download
it, that game is called SPIKE). |
| Ease of Use: 5/5 |
All you need to do is unzip the two files you download in the
same directory and play it using the format: vectrex -filename.gam-,
where filename.gam is the game you want to play. The default keys
you use to play are A,S,D,and F. |
